We built a new GitHub experience
How it works
When Tentacle detects a catalog-info.yaml file in the root of your repository, it automatically reads the specified links and generates a new UI element that integrates seamlessly into your GitHub interface.
Tentacle allows you to select icons for each link. If no icon is specified, it will automatically choose one based on the URL, maintaining a cohesive and intuitive design.
Security
As a platform engineer working for a cybersecurity company, I understand the challenges and security concerns you might have with browser extensions — or any software, for that matter.
Just like with other developer tools I've built [1] [2] , security is always a top priority. Tentacle follows the principle of least privilege, meaning it only requests the minimum permissions necessary. All processing is done locally in your browser, using your current user session, with no personal data sent outside your browser.
